Developing a Sourcing & Procurement Strategy

Procurement always works best when it is strategically deployed.

Procurement Strategy is typically (or should be) built around business facts.

For me it starts from an analysis of spend, what is bought, how much and from how many suppliers. On top of that we layer the risk of the supply chain and the efficiency of it's sourcing and delivery. The graphic above illustrates a real example and the logic revolves around the actions of understanding the supply chain, fixing and optimising processes and systems, including P2P, catalogues and order processing, Optimising the supplier and deal landscape and managing it carefully and diligently and managing the overall sourcing environment from stakeholder to supplier - and back.
